Carm Classic Extra Virgin Olive Oil | 500 ml

The area where CARM olive oils are produced is located in the heart of the Alto Douro, in the Douro Superior, the cradle of the best "A" vines for Port wine, where there have been Roman signs of this culture since the 2nd century BC, followed by the Arabs between the 7th and 11th centuries. It is in this area, more specifically around the village of Almendra where CARM has its olive groves, that one of the areas in Portugal with the most natural aptitude for excellent olive growing is located, thanks to the nature of the very poor schist soils, the exposure of the olive groves and the dry climate, characterised by notable temperature differences between summer and winter. The olive groves are located at altitudes of between 150 and 450 metres above sea level.

Harvesting and extraction:

The olives are picked by hand in olive groves with steep slopes and by mechanical vibration in others, and the harvest takes place between early November and mid-December. The olives are extracted cold in a continuous process - a traditional stone mill and/or a two-stage ecological decanter.
