O Mirabilis é elaborado com uvas de vinhas velhas e centenárias onde predominam o Viosinho e o Gouveio, mas também variadíssimas outras castas de escassíssima produção, já quase inexistentes na região. Cachos pequenos, apertados e bagos singelos, fazem com que a produção por hectare não vá além dos 2100 kg. Os solos de altitude superior a 650 metros, geologicamente
classificados como solos de transição xisto/granítico, nas freguesias de Vilar de Maçada, Cabeda, Tabuaço e Candedo, conferem aos mostos uma genuinidade sublime, onde frescura e aroma se acentuam naturalmente. A madeira selecionada é propositadamente de segundo e terceiro ano, apenas uma pequena percentagem de madeira nova, para não marcar e melhor integrar lentamente a fruta intensa, incidindo sobretudo no carvalho francês e húngaro, resultando num vinho de extrema elegância onde a frescura, estrutura e acidez se entrelaçam.
